Nothing is what it seems, neither with the case nor between them. The clock is ticking on finding resolution, before a deadly outbreak strikes the state.

I'm new at fanfic books so some of the things here puzzled me somewhat, like men (omegas) falling pregnant. It was a little disconcerting initially, but because the book is so well written and one is caught up in the story, even the pregnancy thing becomes acceptable and agreeable and touching. So now I am a fan of this type of fiction, but particularly a fan of Aiden Bates. He writes well with a story line that captivates and characters that are beautifully drawn in all their complexity. Many times I was moved to tears by the compassion of the characters reaching out to help others while dealing with their own weaknesses. Though it is a genre that takes one out of humanity in a sense, Aiden Bates makes his characters wonderfully human and delightful. The book is written with a strong theme of humour running through it but overriding all is the sense of striving to help others and do better and inspiring others to do so.Product details

This a a great 2nd chance love story. Aiden has once again brought a lot of drama and emotions easily felt as read. I loved Elias and Pat's story and i love a great mpreg story.
This book really grabbed at the heart strings. It's a long book but I wouldn't have wanted to miss one word. It was all integral to the storey and the ending was just so fulfilling. There were times it was hard to read through watery eyes. Do yourself a favour and read Pat and Elias's storey.
This is a perfect finale to an outstanding 5-book series. Although each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone and make perfect sense, when read all together some of the.nuances and references to the other characters become clearer. Sort of like being in on an inside joke. If this is your first book in this series, I highly recommend reading the others. Frustrating at times, tearfully sad at times, tense, euphoric, you name it - Aiden Bates will take you on an emotional roller coaster of words. Thanks, Aiden!
This series is awesome! Mr. Bates crafts imaginative story lines and gives us intriguing personalities to explore.
The police work is carefully explained and integral to the story lines. The personal ingredients are equally important and fascinating.
I was hooked at book one I was addicted by book five.
After writing this I'm starting the new series .
I can't wait to see what happens in this one.
This final story in this amazing, fantastic series was absolutely perfect. What a powerful finale, that shows us how all the characters are still living, laughing, loving and taking care of Cold Cases. I was overjoyed to read the romance, learn who the true character of Pat Tessaro is and why. The character of Elias was a complete surprise. I grew very quickly to love him as much as Pat. All of these books can be read as stand alones but I personally, believe I'm a series sucker, especially when one is this enveloping. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS REMARKABLE SERIES!!!!!
5 Stars for producing the best book out of the series! That it turned out to be the last one in the Never Too Late series is too bad, but it is a relief that Bates took fan input to heart by leaving out the way-too-many "you know's" that were his signature sentence endings that drove me to close and return the first three in this series. Pat and Elias both came across as very likeable and charismatic main characters who both faced their past and difficult break up with open minded maturity. Their love was palpable while their mating seemed inevitable, all the while diligently working to save dozens of children's lives. i found their story achingly sweet yet sad and a poignant reminder that life is too short to second guess second chances.
I like the author, the stories, the characters. I like the realistic dialogue. A few edditting issues. So, if I have to read a paragraph three times to figure out which character is speaking, what exactly they are saying, and 'did I miss something?', and it happens more than once - I have to give demerits. I always like when an author waits a couple days, rereads their work and CLARIFIES the spare/confusing spots. They know their characters inside out and should ensure that we are crystal clear on everything on the page. It may seem I'm being harsh or don't like the book/author. Not true - I love him. His obvious talent makes me know he can do better, although he is still better than most authors out their.
